Look was fouled on a lay-up at the start of the 2nd quarter and went out with an ankle injury. The Eagles, leading 13-3, self destructed with Look out of the game.
MCI went on a 7-2 run to pull within five by halftime, 15-10. Ashley Kitchin scored on a steal to make it a three-point game in the 3rd quarter. Jen Genthner crashed the glass for two to put the Eagles lead back to five. The Huskies scored the next 10 points to take the lead for good. Genthner scored on a Taylor Oliver feed to cut the lead to three by quarter’s end, 22-19.
Genthner opened the final frame on a pass from Rachel Hughes to make it a one-point game. MCI scored back-to-back hoops to boost their lead to five. Genthner crashed the glass to make it a three-point game. MCI went up by four at the foul line.
Kelsey Peaslee pulled Lincoln within two when she converted off the offensive boards with 10 seconds to go. The Eagles were slow to foul MCI, sending them to the line with four seconds left. Lincoln got the rebound and called time-out with under a second to go. Their last ditch shot fell short.

Many of Waterville’s points were on second or third efforts, thanks to rebounding from three players.
