Lincoln Academy softball team split a pair of games this week, beating Camden 8-2 on Friday, and losing an extra inning game 4-3 at Nokomis on Monday. The Lady Eagles are 4-3.
Lincoln took a 3-0 lead in the 1st. Laura Soohey and Sarah Alley singled and scored on a Shania Creamer double. They added a run in the 4th on an RBI single to Katherine Bolster scoring Creamer.
The Eagles plated 2 runs in the 5th. Pennington singled, moved over on a Soohey sacrifice bunt and scored on an Alley double. Creamer doubled home Alley. Bolster reached on an error in the 6th, stole second and scored on a Marni Jones single.
Camden scored both of their runs in the top of the 6th.
Hitting for Lincoln were Alley with a double and 2 singles, Creamer 2 doubles, Tara Gauntt 2 singles, and Bolster, Jones, Pennington, Soohey and Kiana Santos a single each. Hitting for Camden were Eaton a double, and Speele and Talmer a single each.
Lincoln took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning. Santos and Bolster singled and scored on a Pennington double. Nokomis got a run back in the bottom of the frame on an unearned run from George.
Lincoln took a 3-1 lead in the 5th when Pennington walked, moved over on a Creamer single and scored on a passed ball.
Nokomis tied the scored in the bottom of the 7th. Boyce and D. George singled and scored on a Taylor Lovely single. Griffin doubled in the 9th and scored on a Sam Richardson single for the winning run.
Hitting for the Eagles were Pennington a double and single, Gauntt 2 singles, and Bolster, Creamer and Santos a single each. Hitting for Nokomis were D. George with 3, Lovely 2, Griffin a double, and Richardson, R. George and Boise a single each.
