The Lady Pink Panthers defeated Lincoln Academy 4-0 in their Homecoming match-up on Saturday. The win was the second for Medomak Valley.
Medomak girls’ soccer team wore bright pink socks, and pink ribbons in their hair to promote breast cancer awareness and support the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides against Breast Cancer.
Goalkeeper Amanda Hendrickson-Belloguet wore a pink shirt, and coach Larry Jensen spray-painted his head pink to support the girls’ cause. Medomak Valley got special permission from the MPA to wear pink.
The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead. Jordan Moore headed in a Taylor Simmons corner kick with 29:30 to play. Heidi Obuchon made it 2-0 when she converted a crossing pass from Julie Ennamorati with 11:10 to go in the half.
Morgan Scavetta stopped a couple of Panther breakaways in the period to limit the Panthers’ damage.
The Panthers continued to dominate the 2nd half. Maria Ennamorati put in her own rebound off the right post with 16 minutes remaining. Alanna Vose made it 4-0 when she collected a through pass from Sammie Griffin and launched a high shot from the left wing that floated under the cross bar in the upper right corner.
Medomak held a 32-6 edge in shots. Hendrickson-Belloguet made five stops in net for the Panthers. Katie Riley made 15 saves for the Eagles.
