Medomak Valley girls basketball defeated Camden Hills 36-33 Monday night in Waldoboro. Both teams got off to a slow start in the defensive battle, with the Windjammers holding a 4-2 edge at the break. The Panthers outscored them 11-5 in the second period to lead 13-9 at the half. The Windjammers held a 24-23 lead at the end of three, before Medomak out scored them 13-9 in the final frame to win.
“We played very good team defense tonight,” coach Randy Hooper said.
Scoring for Medomak were Maggie Cox 10, Justice Barrows 9 (14R,2B), Sammie Griffin 8, Hannah Marks 4 (4R), Sophie Cohen 4 (8R), and Brooke Benedict 1. Scoring for Camden were Messer 9, Gilson 6, Pease 5, Boetsch 4, Bowman 4, Buck 3, and Hilt 2.
