Wiscasset girls looked to run with the Seahawks Monday night, but Boothbay held the Redskins to just one point in the second period, while scoring 12 to take the lead for good. The two teams were knotted in an 11-11 tie after the first quarter.
A feisty Boothbay press forced 10 Wiscasset turnovers in the second frame, as the Seahawks soared to a 23-12 halftime lead. Boothbay continued to pull away in second half action, leading 39-20 at the end of three, and winning 58-33.
Scoring for Boothbay were Alex Clarke 15 (14R), Alexandra Andrews 12 (3R,7S,5A), Sarah Caron 11, Alison Crocker 7, Meghan Smith 6 (7R,2A), Meryl Jones 4 (4R,3S,2A), Paige McLellan 2, and Abby McLellan 1. Scoring for Wiscasset were Kayla Connors 16 (11R), Alli Johnson 10, Bri Goud 4 (7R,5S,2A), Kasey Cromwell 2 and Maryellen True 1 (7R,2S).
The Saints slowly pulled away from Wiscasset Friday night in Lewiston. St. Doms led 9-4, 20-10 and 29-16 at the quarter breaks. Scoring for Wiscasset were Connors 14, Johnson 7 and Heidi Pinkham 2. Scoring for St. Doms were Allaira Murphy 24, Mary Caron 10, Carolyn Joseph 4, Callie Grecco 2 and Allison Conley 2.
