Wiscasset girls’ basketball team opened their Mt.Valley Conference season Friday night with a 55-43 loss to Mt.Valley. The Wolverines stayed with the Falcons in 1st half action, trailing 10-8 at the quarter and tied 18-18 at the half. Mt.Valley broke the game open in the third frame with a 15-4 run.
Scoring for Wiscasset were Kayla Connors 18 (10R), Heidi Pinkham 10, Briana Goud 7, Carolyn Footer 3, Kasey Cromwell 2, Miranda McIntire 2 and Kayla Gordon 1. Scoring for Mt. Valley were Avia Allen 20, Dolloff 12, White 8, Briggs 7, Gallant 4, Armstrong 2, and Brown 2.
Boothbay led 10-3 at the quarter, 23-8 at the half and 41-10 after three in a lopsided contest. The Seahawks forced 28 turnovers in the win. Boothbay held a 42-34 edge on the boards, and scored 12 points off the offensive glass.
