Wiscasset High School girls’ basketball team snapped a nine game losing streak on Jan. 11 to win their first game of the season, 36-21 over Winthrop
The Lady Wolverines held a narrow 6-4 lead at the quarter, and led 13-8 at the half and 26-14 at the end of three.
“Wiscasset’s 3rd quarter pressure helped the Wolverines pull away. Wiscasset’s team defensive effort was the deciding effort,” coach Patrick Quinn said.
Scoring for Wiscasset were Kayla Connors 12 (10R), Heidi Pinkham 9, Kasey Cromwell 6, Kayla Gordon 4, Miranda McIntire 2, Carolyn Footer 2 and Briana Goud 1. Scoring for the Ramblers were Jessica Scott 7, Shauna Carlson 5, Liz Glover 4, Catherine Ouellette 2, Alyssa Arsenault 2 and Randi Dennett 1.
Scoring for the Wolverines were Kayla Connors 25 (15R), Kasey Cromwell 3, Carolyn Footer 3, Heidi Pinkham 1, and Briana Goud 1. Scoring for Carrabec were Jackson 9, Vaillancourt 8, Plunket 8, Andrew 7 and Murray 2.
