Medomak Valley baseball defeated MCI 6-5 in eight innings on Monday to improve their record to 3-5. Starter Micah Williamson pitched 7 innings (2B,8K,7H) and Ollie Brown closed out the final inning (2K).
The Panthers took a 4-0 lead after 2½ innings. They scored one run in the first when Riley McCollett walked and scored on a Brown double. Medomak added a run in the second when Patrick Madden walked, stole second, and scored when Williamson reached on an error. Medomak plated two runs in the top of the third to lead 4-0. Bryce Collamore tripled and scored on a Nick DePatsy single. Madden drove home DePatsy.
MCI scored three runs in the home half of the third, highlighted by a single to Tolman and triple to Vigue.
Medomak plated a run in the fifth to lead 5-3. DePatsy walked and scored on a Ben Turner sacrifice fly.
MCI knotted the score with two runs in the bottom of the seventh, led by an RBI single from Hallee.
Medomak scored the game winner in the eighth when Williamson walked, stole second, and scored on a Brown single.
Hitting for Medomak were Brown with a double and single, Collamore a triple, and Williamson, DePatsy, and Ben Turner a single each.
Belfast 9 – Medomak 4
Belfast rallied from behind to beat Medomak baseball 9-4 on Friday. The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings. The Lions picked away at the lead, tying the game in the fifth, taking a one run lead in the sixth, before plating four runs in the top of the seventh.
Riley McCollett (3I,3B,2K,5H) took the loss coming on in relief for starting pitcher Nick DePatsy (4I,3K,7H). Emory Dinsmore collected the win for Belfast.
Medomak scored two runs in the first inning when Micah Williamson reached on a dropped third strike, McCollett reached on a single and both came home on a DePatsy single. They added two runs in the second when Colton Spear reached on a dropped third strike, Williamson walked, and both scored on a Ollie Brown single.Medomak had five errors in the loss, including two that led to runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Hitting for Medomak were DePatsy, McCollett, and Brown with two singles each, and Williamson and Isaac Eustler a single each. Hitting for Belfast were Alex Flagg and Garrett Hamlin three singles each, Lucien Smith and Alex Canning two singles each, and Drew Stanley and Matt Smith one single each. Stanley, Hamlin, and Canning drove in two runs each and Flagg and L. Smith one each.
