Medomak Valley boys’ basketball team lost two tough games this week, falling to Camden by two in overtime Friday night, and to Oak Hill by three on the road on Tuesday.
When asked what happened in the fourth quarter, coach Nick DePatsy said, “I have no idea, they just mentally fell apart completely,” Medomak was sent to the line just twice in the physical game.
Scoring for Medomak were Murray 18, Isaac Greenrose 10, Isaac Durkee 7, Alex Greenrose 6, Kyle Durkee 3 and Shane Osier 2. Scoring for the Raiders were Cam Morin 17, Trevor Sampson 10, Cody Priest 8, Tanner Lessard 6, Sam Morin 4, Brian Bradstreet 2 and Parker Asselin 2.
“We threw everything at him. The kid is just unbelievable, he’s that good,” coach Nick DePatsy said of the 6’6″ senior McFarland. “We fouled him and he made them. They hit only one three all night, and that was the one.
“Both teams shot very well. They did everything I asked. I’m very happy with how we played. That kid was phenomenal,” DePatsy said.
Camden led 22-19 at the quarter, 47-46 at the half, and 66-63 at the end of three. The Panthers missed a go ahead basket in the paint, and “missed some free throws down the stretch,” DePatsy said.
Scoring for Medomak were Isaac Greenrose 20, Kyle Durkee 17, Isaac Durkee 17, John Murray 14, Alex Greenrose 9, Deering Genthner 2, Shane Osier 2 and Ryan Ripley 1. Scoring for Camden were Tyler McFarland 37, Taylor Hall 12, Andrew Flanagan 8, Nathan Catel 6, Taylor McFarland 6, Joel Gabriele 5, Adam Carlson 5 and Adam Landwehr 2.
