Medomak Valley boys’ cross country team ran to a second place finish at the Camden Hills Invitational meet Oct. 7. Brunswick won the boys’ race with 32 points, followed by Medomak 50, Lincoln 76, Morse 94 and Camden 106. Benson Worthington won the race in 17:05 for Brunswick.
Panthers Mason Vermilion (4th) and Nick Anderson (5th) paced Medomak to a second place finish. Medomak packed five scoring runners in the top 16. Vermilion finished in 17:54 and Anderson in 18:08.
Rounding out Medomak’s scoring five were 13. Gavin Felch, 19:16; 15. Ivan Johnson, 19:21; and 16. Alexander Casas, 19:21. Also competing for the Panthers were 18. Taylor Packard, 19:32; 26. Lance Parker, 20:12; 36. Ian Rixon, 20:59; 44. Kyle Baubonis, 21:04; and 56. Alex Kenniston, 23:33.
The LA Eagles placed third. Will Hadden placed sixth in 18:10, followed closely by teammate Nick Smelcer in seventh place in 18:11. Josh Richards placed 19th in 19:38; Alex Tomasello 20th in 19:38; and Julian Frink 29th in 20:34 to complete the scoring five.
Also running for Lincoln were 30. Nathan Osborne, 20:34; 40. Tim Wells, 21:11; 41. Liam Anderson, 21:11; 43. Josh Sullivan, 21:29; 47. Kevin Sandefur, 21:59; 50. Sal Azzaretti, 22:54; 53. Daniel Mayer, 22:59; and 58. Mat Poland, 24:22.
Lincoln Academy had just one runner, Teiga Martin, who placed 13th with a time of 21:58.
Heidi Harris paced the Lady Panthers, placing 18th in 23:05. Also running for Medomak were 21. Jocelyn Thames, 23:42; 22. Jordan Hopkins, 23:47; 24. Alyssa Griggs, 24:10; 30. Abby Vail, 25:01; 32.
