Medomak Valley led from the opening basket in their 65-39 win over Oceanside in the East Class B Quarterfinals in Bangor on Feb. 17. With the win, the Panthers advance to the semifinals against Gardiner in a rematch of the KVAC championships. The winner advances to the Regional finals.
John Murray opened the game with back-to-back hoops. Rockland stayed within striking distance in 1st half action, trailing 15-10 at the quarter and 23-17 at the half.
The Panthers came out of the halftime break on fire and pressed the Mariners out of the game. After trading hoops with Oceanside, Medomak rattled off 12 straight points, from five different scorers, to open up a 16-point lead.
Deering Genthner had two steals and Shane Osier one, Zack Judkins drew a charge, and the Panthers crashed the boards for a 12-5 advantage in the 3rd. Medomak led 42-25 heading into the final period.
The Panthers continued to dominate in the 4th quarter, opening with a 9-2 run to build a 22-point lead and put the game away. Murray punctuated the rally with a steal and slam-dunk. Medomak out scored Oceanside 42-22 in the 2nd half.
The Panthers out rebounded the Mariners 39-26 in the win, and scored six points off the offensive glass from Murray, Osier and Ryan Ripley.

Jonathan Hendrickson-Belloguet had five steals and 2 assists. Scoring for Oceanside were Shea Davenport 9 (6R,3B), Alex Wallace 9, Nick Judge 5, Sam Meklin 5 (3R,3S), David Harrison 5, Ben Wallace 2, Isaiah Stone-Patterson 2, and Hunter Grindle 2.
