Medomak Valley girls’ cross country team defended their home turf on Sept. 17 to win a nine team meet in Waldoboro. Medomak placed five scoring runs in the top 14, out of a field of 68, to win with 37 points. Camden was second with 56, Lawrence 77, Belfast 83, Erskine 83, and Rockland, Edward Little, Lincoln Academy and Watershed had no team score. Camden’s Brittany Bowman set the record on the Panthers’ new course in a winning time of 20:29.
Gwen Moiles led the Panthers with a third place finish in 21:11. Megan Wyllie was fourth in 21:24; Heidi Harris eighth in 21:57; Alyssa Griggs 13th in 22:45 and Jocelyn Thames 14th in 22:46 to complete Medomak’s scoring five. Also finishing for the Panthers were 27. Kelsie Grdy, 24:11; 29. Abbie Vail, 24:19; 37. Maddie Bodine, 25:14; 38. Brianna Gross, 25:15; 39. Shannon Staples, 25:18; 56. Missy Philbrook, 27:37; and 59. Bailey Black, 28:13.
Lincoln girls had four runners. Hannah Fake placed 15th in 23:20; Katrina Bell 18th in 23:00; Teiga Martin 19th in 23:34; and Elizabeth Simonds 67th.
Nick Anderson led the Panthers with a fifth place finish in 18:07. Brendon O’Donnell was eighth in 18:51; Joe Murphy 10th in 19:08; Quinton Vannah 22nd in 20:24; and Ian Rixon 32nd in 20:48 to complete Medomak’s scoring five. Also finishing for the Panthers were 37, Ivan Johnson, 21:20; 45. Lance Parker, 21:46; 51. Alex Casas, 22:10; and 56. Michael Gilman, 22:35.
Luca Keuschguerian and Shawn Grooms led Lincoln Academy in a photo finish in 11th and 12th places. Keushguerian placed 11th in 19:19.38 and Grooms 12th in 19:19.96. Alex Tomasello was 18th in 20:05; Alex Hadik 21st in 20:17; and Will Hadden 19th in 20:42 to complete the Eagles scoring five. Also finishing for Lincoln were 33. Tyler Ward, 20:51; 41. Kevin Sandefur, 21:35; 46. Josh Richards, 21:55; 52. Julian Frink, 22:21; 53. Tim Wells, 22:22; 55. Daniel Mayer, 22:31; 65. Matt Poland, 25:45; and 66. Sal Azzaretti, 25:40.
