Five local cheering squads competed at the 16th annual Maine State Jr. High and Elementary cheering championships at the Bangor Auditorium on March 10.
The Medomak Riverhawks won the Jr. High School Division III competition, successfully defending their 2011 title, with the second highest score of the day at 110.9.
The Waldoboro Panthers won the Pee Wee Division I competition. Great Salt Bay School placed third in Jr. High Division III, and the Warren Panthers placed second in Pee Wee Division II.
