Medomak Valley led 4-1 after the first inning, and 5-4 after the second, before the Mariners batted around in the third to take a 16-6 lead. Oceanside added five in the fourth and two in the fifth to put the game away.
Walks to Hannah Watmough and Hope Lash in the first inning set up an RBI single to McKenzie Wing and two run single to Vanessa Rancourt. Casey Wagner drove in Rancourt with a sacrifice fly.
A. Poland walked and scored on a Lash sacrifice in the second. Rancourt reached on an error and scored on a passed ball in the third. Medomak loaded up the bases in the bottom of the fifth on three straight walks. Wheeler hit an infield single scoring Wagner to boost Medomak’s tally to seven.
Hitting for Medomak were Wing, Rancourt, and Wheeler with a single each.
Hitting for Oceanside were Brooke Dugan with a homerun, double, and single, Caitlyn Page and Ari Curtis, a double and two singles each, Kaylin Grover and Madelyn Young, two singles each, and Tiffany Penn, Alexis Davis, and Briana Dugan a single each.
Alexis Davis (3H) collected the win for the Mariners, and Wagner took the loss for the Panthers.
