Medomak Valley held their spring sports awards on June 13. Athletic Director Matt Lash recognized State Class B Racewalk champion Ian Rixon; KVAC Class B softball champions; and softball coach Richard Vannah, for being voted Class B KVAC Softball Coach of the Year.
All Sports Booster secretary Debbie Olive was presented with the 2010-11 Service Award. The girls’ track and field team won the GPA award with a 3.8, beating out the boys’ tennis team (3.7) and softball team (3.6).
Awards by sport are as follows:
Baseball awards were presented to Isaac Durkee (KVAC All-Academic, Coaches Award), Chris Benedict (KVAC All-Academic, 3 letter plaque); Isaac Greenrose (3 letter plaque, 7 letter jacket, MVP) and Kyle Durkee (Senior Sportsmanship Award, Most Improved).
Boys’ tennis awards were presented to Nick Young (KVAC All-Academic, MVP); Cal Robbins (Coaches Award); and Max Hinkley (Most Improved).
Girls’ tennis awards were presented to Haley Turner (KVAC All-Academic, 3 letter plaque); Kelly Leidenroth (KVAC All-Academic, Coaches Award); Kaye Peabody (KVAC All-Academic, Most Improved) and Isabelle Lobley (MVP)
Track and field awards were presented to Michael Gilman (KVAC All-Academic, Most Improved); Megan Wyllie (KVAC All-Academic, 10 letter club); Carla White (KVAC All-Academic); Gwen Moiles (KVAC All-Academic, 10 letter club); Quinton Vannah (KVAC All-Academic, Coaches Award); Ian Rixon (KVAC Racewalk 2nd Team, 3 letter plaque, MVP); Julie Ennamorati (3 letter plaque, MVP); Ashley Rackliff (3 letter plaque, Coaches Award); Deering Genthner (3 letter plaque); Joseph Murphy (7 letter jacket); and Elise Wallace (Most Improved) Medomak’s girls’ 400m relay team was named to the KVAC 2nd Team. Team members were Desiree Leary, Ashley Rackliff, Julie Ennamorati and Amanda Young.
Softball awards were presented to Kasey Benner (KVAC All-Academic, (KVAC First Team, 3 letter plaque, 7 letter jacket, Senior Sportsmanship Award, MVP); Ericka Christensen ((KVAC First Team); Lindsay Ranquist (KVAC 2nd Team, 3 letter plaque); Vanessa Davis (KVAC 2nd Team, 3 letter plaque); Mallory Conary (3 letter plaque, 7 letter jacket, Coaches Award); and Desiree Benner (Most Improved).
