The Medomak Valley Softball team defeated the top seed and previously undefeated York by a score of 5-0 on Tuesday, June 17 to advance to the Class B state championship game. The state championship game will be held Saturday, June 21 at 4:00 p.m. at the University of Maine in Orono.
Sidney Nichols pitched a one-hit shutout over the Wildcats, who averaged double-digit run production during their regular season.
The Panthers smashed eight hits in the win, led by Jennika Schumann with a double and single, Grace Havener two singles, Peyton Eaton and Kendall Simmons a double each, Ivy McCollett and Grace Townsend a single each.
