John Murray hit a walk-off three run homerun to lift Medomak Valley to a 9-6 win over Belfast Tuesday night in the Panthers’ season finale. “This is a great ending to a great season. Once again we got down early and we came back fighting. The seniors came up big in their last game having a combined 8 hits, and 5 runs,” coach Scott Hastings said.
Belfast jumped out to a 4-0 lead, before the Panthers scrambled back. Isaac Durkee singled in the 4th, moved over on an Isaac Greenrose single and scored on an Alex Greenrose sacrifice. Belfast scored one in the top of the 5th, before Medomak batted around in the home half of the inning for five runs to take a one run lead, 6-5. Mike Kee and Brandon Gresham singled, and the Durkee twins hit back-to-back doubles, with Kyle driving in one run and Isaac two. Alex Greenrose followed with a two run homerun.
Belfast knotted the score with a run in the 6th on singles to Simmonds and Larry Dyer.
Medomak rallied in the bottom of the 7th for the win. A. Greenrose and Chris Benedict singled and scored on John Murray’s 3 run homerun.
I. Greenrose collected the win (2H, 2B, 1K), Kyle Durkee started (2I, 3R, 1H, 3B, 2K) and Adam Lynch was the middle reliever (2R, 2H, 1B, 1K). They combined for 4K, 6B, 5H).

Greenrose, Kee, Gresham and Robbie Griffin a single each. Hitting for Belfast were Dyer with 2 singles, and Kulikowski, Simmonds and Dyer one each.
The Panthers finish the season with a 9-7 record, and in twelfth place and out of the playoff picture.
Four Medomak pitchers took the mound, Alex Greenrose, Brandon Soper, John Murray and Adam Lynch. They combined for 10H, 10B, 3K. Medomak committed 13 errors in the loss.
