Medomak Valley senior Trever Neilson was State Class B wrestling runner-up at the championship meet held at Medomak Valley on Saturday. Neilson pinned Fyreburg’s Nate Hill, and pinned Morse’s Sean Marrero to advance to the finals. Neilson met up with Oak Hill’s Dillon Tibbetts in the championship match. The score was 0-0 after the first period, Neilson was down 1-0 at the end of the second, and tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. Neither wrestler scored in the first overtime period. MCI escaped in the second OT and scored two points. Neilson escaped in the third overtime period, but was unable to pick up any more points, losing the match by 3-2 decision.
