Medomak Valley wrestler Stefan Nicholls placed fourth in the Atlantic Invitational wrestling tournament in Wells on Dec. 23.
The Panthers placed 14th and Lincoln Academy 18th in the 18-team tournament, won by Marshwood 166. Camden was runner-up with 162 points.
Mark Zaccadelli (106) was the only Eagle wrestler to make it out of the pigtail round. Nicholls, Cyril Miller (170), Dylan Look (195) and Yannick Price-Prevot (285) won their pigtail matches for the Panthers to advance to the tournament round.
Zaccadelli (LA 106) pinned Cote Barauncis (Lis) in 26 seconds in the pigtails, was pinned by James Archer (CH) in 3:22 and lost a 9-8 decision to Nacole Burgess (Mt.V).
Jimmy Benner (LA 113) was pinned in the pigtails by Eric Holman (Dir) in 30 seconds.
Morgan Achorn (LA 120) was pinned in 33 seconds by Jake Simoneau (Mar) in the pigtails.
Lucas Verrier (LA 126) was pinned in 33 seconds by Zach Stevens (Lis) in the pigtails.
Stefan Nicholls (MV 132) pinned Alex Papp (Yor) in the pigtails in 1:59; lost a 10-1 decision to Caleb Hall (Dir), beat Chris Ziadeh (Nob) by 11-4 decision, won by default over Matt Doe (Ken), and met up with Hall again in the consolation finals, where he lost by 9-5 decision to take fourth place.
Miranda Achorn (LA 132) was pinned by Doe in the pigtails in 23 seconds.
CeCe Luce (MV 138) was pinned by Zac Kellett (Ken) in 1:41 in the pigtails.
Dylan Flint (LA 145) was pinned by Jake Thurston (Fry) in 2:45 in the pigtails.
Martin Shott (LA 152) was pinned by Jesse Hutchinson (Dir) in the pigtails in 3:49.
Blake Hay (LA 160) was pinned by CJ Bartlett (Fry) in 33 seconds in the pigtails.
Cyril Miller (MV 170) pinned Juan Alvares (Nob) in 1:33 in the pigtails, lost an 11-1 decision to Evan Fecko (Ken), beat Michael Curtis (Wel) by 2-0 decision, and lost a 5-3 decision to Nelson Pepin (Dir) in the consolation semifinals.
Nate Geoffrion (LA 182) lost a 5-2 decision to JJ Allen (Ken) in the pigtails
Chris Stebner (LA 195) was pinned by Hunter L-H-Brookline in 19 seconds in the pigtails.
Dylan Look (MV 195) pinned Seth Wilcox (MCI) in 8 seconds in the pigtails, was pinned by Brandon Graffam (CH) in 5:49, and lost to Alex Snowman (Dir) by default.
Yannick Price-Prevot (MV 285) pinned Cliff Boynton (Dir) in 32 seconds, was pinned by Zach M-H-Brookline in 1:08, won by pin over Richie Platt (Ken) in 1:36, and lost by pin to Alex Mercino (York) in 1:43 in the consolation semifinals.
