Three Lincoln Academy golfers and one from Medomak Valley qualified for the State Individual Golf Championships Tuesday at Natanis.
Eagle Malcolm Oliver was low medallist in KVAC Class B with a 74 to qualify for States. Oliver chipped in for an Eagle on the back nine. Lincoln freshman Seward Matel also qualified with an 83. Medomak Valley golfer Zach Judkins qualified with an 84.
In girls’ golf action (combined Class A and B), Lincoln Academy’s Kelsey Leeman was low medallist with an 85. Leeman shot a 41 on the front nine and a 44 on the back nine to take first place.
Lincoln was an automatic State qualifier, after winning the KVAC Class B championship in Bath on Sept. 30. Lincoln shot a team score of 335 at the KVAC State Qualifier at Natanis to be low team. Also qualifying for States were Rockland, Belfast and Waterville. Medomak (362) missed qualifying by six strokes.
“We should have been there,” Medomak coach Peter Stuart said.
“They are having a great season. If they pull it all together, they could have a great shot at States,” Lincoln Academy coach Todd Brackett said.
Other Lincoln Academy scores are as follows: Stephen Quinlan 91, Jalen Lincoln 100, Goran Johanson 87, and Casey Poland 96. Other Medomak Valley scores are as follows: Isaac Greenrose 94, Adam Lynch 96, Alex Greenrose 97, Kyle Durkee 97, and John Wilcox 89.
