Medomak Valley boys’ cross country team ran to victory at Lincoln Academy Sept. 23, at the Eagles’ Homecoming and only home meet of the season.
The Panthers placed five scoring runners in the top 20 to score 50 points and beat out Erskine by a point. Lincoln placed third with 58 and Winslow fourth with 61 in a close four-way race.
Winslow’s Nicholas Shuckrow was the race winner for the boys in 17:21, beating out Medomak’s Mason Vermilion by 31 seconds. Vermilion was second in 17:52, and Panther teammate Nick Anderson third in 18:08. Rounding out the scoring five for the Panthers were 11. Ivan Johnson, 19:17; 15. Alex Casas, 20:06; and 20. Gavin Felch, 20:30.
Also running for Medomak were 22. Ian Rixon, 20:41; 24. Kyle Baubonis, 20:55; 25. Lance Parker, 20:55; 29. Brendon O’Donnell, 21:28; and 47. Alex Kenniston, 25:53.
Will Hadden led Lincoln with a fifth place finish in 18:14, beating out teammate Nick Smelcer by a second. Alex Tomasello was ninth in 19:01, Josh Richards 17th in 20:16 and Nathan Osborne 23rd in 20:46 to round out the Eagles’ scoring five.
Also running for Lincoln were 26. Julian Frink, 21:15; 27. Tim Wells, 21:21; 28. Liam Anderson, 21:25; 37. Seth Chatterton, 22:34; 38. Kevin Sandefur, 22:52; 39. Daniel Mayer, 22:52; 44. Mat Poland, 25:27; and 46. Sal Azzaretti, 25:52.
Teiga Martin placed seventh for Lincoln in 22:50 and Hannah Fake ninth in 22:57.
Jocelyn Thames led the Lady Panthers, placing 13th in 24:10. Alyssa Griggs was 16th in 24:38; Kelsie Grady 17th in 24:39; Heidi Harris 19th in 24:47; and Abbie Vail 20th in 25:34 to complete the scoring five. Also running for Medomak were 24. Jordan Hopkins, 26:39; 26.Shannon Staples, 26:46; 29. Kristi Severson, 27:31; and 33. Beth Corson, 31:57.
