Panthers Win Tie Breaker Over Eagles

Lincoln Academy and Medomak Valley wrestlers battled to a 42-42 tie on Dec. 14 in Newcastle. The Panthers won four out of five live matches, but forfeited more points on the night. Medomak was crowned the victor in a tie-breaker, based on having more pins than the Eagles.

Jimmy Benner (LA 113) pinned Ian Cochran in 1:56. Stefan Nicholls (MV 132) pinned Miranda Achorn in 1:42. Oceanside independent Damien Ball pinned Miranda Achorn in 2:46. Brandon Holloway (MV 160) pinned Blake Hay in 4:37. Cyril Miller (MV 170) pinned Emma Jones in 1:14. David Montgomery (MV 195) pinned Chris Stebner in 1:52.

Eagles winning by forfeit were Mark Zaccadelli (106), Morgan Achorn (120), Lucas Verrier (126), Brandon Giddings (145), Martin Shott (152), and Nate Geoffrion. Panthers winning by forfeit were CeCe Luce (138), Dylan Look (220) and Yanni Price-Prevot.

Nicholls (132) won three by forfeit and pinned Ashmore (B) in 11 seconds. Luce (138) won two by forfeit, lost by tech fall to Staples (H), and by pin to Fogner (Mt.V) in 47 seconds. Miller (171) won 4-2 over Hayden (S), pinned Shepardson (H) in 3:31, pinned Blanchette (Mt.V) in 52 seconds, and pinned Bishop (B) in 1:20.

Look (192) was pinned by Pineo (S) in 1:21, won by forfeit ((H), pinned Fowler (Mt.V) in 14 seconds, and was pinned by Powell (B) in 2:07.
