The Gardiner Tigers pulled off a come from behind victory over the Medomak Valley High School Panthers, 57-46, in the West B semifinals at the Bangor Auditorium Feb. 22.
Medomak led for most of the way including at the beginning of the fourth quarter, however a Gardiner offense came to life and, with several Panthers in foul trouble, managed to put the game away in the waning moments.
In the first three quarters, Medomak out-rebounded the Tigers 29-18. In the fourth quarter, Gardiner took the edge, out-rebounding the Panthers 12-6 in the final frame with Matt Hall contributing seven on Gardiner’s side of the ledger.
Gardiner’s John Palmer rose to the occasion down the stretch, shooting 9 for 9 from the line on his way to amassing 33 points for the game.
John Murray led Medomak scorers with 12 points. Alex Greenrose had 10.
