Medomak Valley High School officially opened their wrestling season Saturday at Belfast. The Panthers lost 18-51 to MDI, 30-42 to Ellsworth, 30-60 to Belfast, 12-70 to Camden and 18-36 to Herman. Medomak forfeited in seven weight divisions (42 points per match).
Damien Hall, 132 Oceanside affiliate, pinned Josh Silva (MDI) in 37 seconds, pinned Dustin Smelly (E) in 1:19, was pinned by Brent Waterman (B) in 27 seconds, and won two matches by forfeit.
Stefan Nicholls, 132, won four of five matches. Nicholls pinned Silva in 40 seconds, pinned Smelly in 1:24, Waterman in 30 seconds, won by forfeit and lost an 18-7 decision to Cleman Powers (CR).
CeCe Luce, 138, won by forfeit (E), was pinned by Dillion Patten (MDI) in 1:18, by Curtis Warren (B) in 17 seconds, by Tom Cassidy (CR) in 40 seconds, and by Codey Staples (H) in the 3rd period.
Brandon Holloway, 160, won four matches. Holloway pinned Jalique Keene (MDI) in 18 seconds, pinned Harry Whitmore (E) in 1:33, was pinned by Dan Weiss (B), in 17 seconds, pinned Jack Hallprick (CR) in 55 seconds, and pinned Paul Young (Central) in the second period.
Cyril Miller, 170, won two matches on the day. Miller lost in four overtimes to Thomas Bulley (MDI), was pinned by Mike Phillappon (E) in the third period, pinned Caleb Cook (B) in 1:01; was pinned by Ryan Graffam (CR) in the third period, and won by pin over Kyle Corneak (H) in 1:26.
Dylan Look, 195, won two matches by forfeit and pinned Vaughn Hitchcock (E) in 22 seconds, and was pinned by Peter Kelly (B) in the third, and Brandon Graffam (CR) in 25 seconds.
David Montgomery, 220, was pinned by Adam Ranco (MDI) in 49 seconds, won by forfeit (E), pinned John Bryant (B) in 40 seconds, was pinned by Rhett Chase (CR) in 56 seconds, and by Alex Urquart (H) in 14 seconds.
Joe King, 285, was pinned by Cody Bracy (MDI) in 41 seconds, by Mike Garlin (E) in 12 seconds, won by forfeit (B&CR), and was pinned by Nash Roy (H) in 1:02.
