Thanks to all the folks that attended the weekly fun shoots this winter, the club was able to raise $323 to help maintain the range for future fun shoots.
The fun shoots run from January to April for anyone interested in target shooting with .22 caliber rifles. Many people attend and the club enjoys seeing young kids also take part in learning the importance of handling firearms and the enjoyment of target shooting.
On Sat., May 21, the Annual Youth Hooked on Fishing Event will take place at the Quarry on Depot Street in Waldoboro.
Food and fishing supplies will be on hand for the day’s event. This has become a very well attended youth activity and the club together with MVLT is pleased to see so many kids return. There is no charge for this event.
The club is looking for businesses to help sponsor this event with a donation of $25. For event sponsorships the business name will be placed on a banner at the event and will be mentioned in press releases and email newsletters. The donations can be sent to the Lincoln County Fish and Game Association, P.O. 55, Waldoboro, 05472.
The club’s next monthly meeting is on Tues., May 2 at 7 p.m. with guest speaker Stewart DesMeules, AmeriCorps member for both the Medomak Valley Land Trust and the Lloyd Davis Trust. He will be speaking about the Alewife run this spring and the need for volunteers and the benefits of having alewives in the Medomak River.
Jen Atkinson of the Quebec-Labrador Foundation will be also speak on the Questing to Learn program and how the club may be of help with this learning effort in the Waldoboro area.
The LCFG will again be at the Waldoboro Day’s Festivities and hope that folks come by to see pictures of past fishing events, along with kids’ booklets, stickers and a raffle.
The Lincoln County Fish and Game Association helps to promote the interest of hunting and fishing and the propagation of fish and game.
The club is always looking for new members: hunters, fishermen, archers, outdoorsmen, and target shooters. They are proud to be family oriented, and all are welcome.
