Tigers and Mustangs take WHS girls for a ride

Jay and Monmouth defeated Wiscasset girls’ basketball team this week. Monmouth handed the Lady Redskins a 46-21 loss Tuesday night in Wiscasset. Ten Mustangs’ players scored in the game, led by Ciera Spencer with 15. Kyllee Kemp added 9, Kristine Kahl 6, Daisi Poole 4, Kelsie Hilton 3, Colby Wilson 3, Molly Manice 2, Danielle Bonann 2, Melissa Brassard 1 and Ashley Coulombe 1.

Scoring for Wiscasset were Maryellen True 7, Kayla Connors 6 (11R), Caroline Footer 3, Becca Slack 2, Brianna Goud 2 and Heidi Pinkham 1.

Jay 53 – Wiscasset 32Wiscasset stayed with the Tigers in first-half action, trailing by seven points at the break. The Redskins shot 59 percent from the floor, which pleased first year coach Patrick Quinn, but Wiscasset had 40 turnovers in the loss. Scoring for Wiscasset were Connors 9, Alli Johnson 8, True 6, Samantha Sutter 4, Goud 3 and Slack 2.
