The Lincoln County based fifth and sixth grade Boothbay Warriors recently won the Cape League championships. The Cape League stretches from Lincoln County to Southern Maine and includes over 100 teams.
The Boothbay Warriors went 16-0, including winning six games in the playoffs. In the playoffs, the Warriors beat South Portland White, Cape Elizabeth, South Portland Gold, Falmouth, Gray New-Gloucester, and Lake Region.
In the semi-final game with Gray NG, Kaeden Davis scored 26, Ethen Reed 10, Patrick McKenney 7, Jake Bickmore 4, Sullivan Rice 3, and Ben Pierce 3. In the championship game with Lake Region, McKenney and Davis netted 10 each, Pierce 9, Bickmore 5, Noah Crosby 4, Pierce 2, and Reed 1.
Also playing on the team are Sullivan Rice, Kaleb Ames, Miles Wotton, Gavin Pinkham, Jake Craig, Chris Hamblett, and Kayden Ames. The team is coached by Chris McKenney, Matt Rice, and Kevin Ames.
The team has played between 40-50 games this season, starting with a fall league in Saco, then playing in the Cape League.
