Alanna Vose broke Medomak Valley’s single game scoring record Saturday night in front of her hometown crowd in Waldoboro. Vose netted 40 points to break Amber Williamson’s 1998 record (37). Vose settled 14 shots from the floor, including three 3’s, and connected at the free throw line on nine of 13 shots.
The Raiders led 15-6 at the end of the 1st quarter. Medomak out scored Oak Hill 15-8 in the 2nd frame to pull within two at the half, 23-21. The Panthers took the lead with six minutes to play in the 3rd on back-to-back hoops from Amanda Hendrickson-Belloguet and Vose off an H-Belloguet steal.
After eight lead changes in the 3rd period, Medomak took a 37-34 lead at the end of the period on two foul shots and a basket from Vose.
Oak Hill’s Jane Marston opened the 4th quarter with a three-pointer to tie the score. Vose scored on a Taylor Simmons feed and Elise Wallace settled one at the foul line to put Medomak up for good.
Medomak went on a 10-point run late in the period to pull away. Hannah Marks started the rally with a basket, and Vose went five for six from the line and scored off her own steal in the rally.
