Waldoboro 9&10 Little League all-stars dropped two games in the District 2 playoffs, falling to Waldo 14-4 on June 28 and Rockland 14-2 on June 29.
Wyatt Post took the loss in the Rockland game, and Wyatt Fillmore and Duncan Widdecombe pitched in relief. Trevor Reed collected the four inning mercy ruling win (4I, 4K, 4B, 3H, 1HP).
Jordan Powell singled and stole around the bases in the top of the 2nd, scoring on a throwing error. Scott Robinson reached on fielder’s choice in the 4th, moved over on a Noah Dean walk, stole third and scored on a wild throw.
Rockland ran the bases well. “It was a pretty good game for both sides. Our hits were fielded,” coach Bill Post said.
Hitting for Waldoboro were Nathan Emerson with a double, Jordan Powell a single and Kevin White a single.
Hitting for Waldoboro were Powell with a triple, Post, Eli McCollett, CJ Sproul, Fillmore, and White had a single each. Post scored two runs and McCollett and Powell one each. Hitting for Waldo were Cole Frey with a double and single, and Wyatt Harriman, Garrett Butler, Boulet, Kurgin, Alex and Jay one each. Frey and Harriman scored three runs each and George Dakin two to lead Waldo.
