Waldoboro Recreation opened their seventh coed softball season with over 200 participants. The league plays by American Softball Association rules with a few twists.
“Men must use wooden bats and remain behind markers in the outfield while women are at bat. The ladies are allowed to bunt, which keeps everyone on their toes,” Waldoboro Recreation director Kyle Santheson said.
Ten players are on the field, of which three must be women.
