Wiscasset baseball won their final four games of the MVC season to finish at 13-3. They are seeded third in West Class C.
Boothbay scored their lone run in the 1st on their only hits of the ball game, singles to Murphy and Colcord (RBI). Hitting for Wiscasset were Grover with 3 singles, Jason Weatherbee a homerun and single, Zach Ellison 2 singles, Ryan Segovia a homerun, and Eddie Stewart and James Andretta a single each.
The Redskins plated four runs in the 1st inning. Grover singled and scored on a Benn double. Segovia followed with a two run homerun. Weatherbee was hit by a pitch, moved over on a passed ball and scored on an Ellison fielder’s choice.
Wiscasset added a run in the 3rd when Mason Brewer doubled and scored on an Ellison fielder’s choice. They added a run in the 5th on a solo blast from Weatherbee, his sixth homerun of the season. Wiscasset added two runs in the 6th. Stewart and Chandler Longfellow singled and scored on a Benn single.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Grover with 3 singles, Benn a double and single, Segovia and Weatherbee a homerun each, Brewer a double, and Stewart and Longfellow a single each. Hitting for Hall-Dale were Rush with 2 and Plourde and McNaughton with 1 each.
Brewer started (5I, 8K, 3B, 5H) and Weatherbee collected the win in relief (3I, 6K, 3B, 2H).
Wiscasset led 4-1 after five innings. Wyatt Reed singled in Ellison in the 1st. Longfellow drove home Weatherbee who reached on a double in the 4th. Brewer hit a two run homerun scoring Segovia in the 5th.
Monmouth scrambled back with three runs in the 6th and two in the 7th to take a 6-4 lead. Wiscasset scored two in the bottom of the 7th to tie the score and force an extra inning. Grover and Benn drew walks to set up RBI singles to Brewer and Weatherbee.
Wyatt Reed singled in the 8th, moved over on an Andretta sacrifice and scored on a Benn single. “It was textbook,” coach Todd Souza said.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Brewer with a homerun and single, Weatherbee a double and single, Reed 2 singles and Benn a single. Hitting for Monmouth were Fletcher with a double and single, Bachelder 2 singles, and Burnham, Fournier and Cummings 1 each.
