WHS Ties Saints, Falls To Dirigo

Wiscasset 0 – St. Dom’s 0Wiscasset and St. Dom’s locked into a zero-zero tie on Sept. 16 in make-up action in Wiscasset. The Saints were undefeated coming into the game. Cam Hainey made four stops in net for St. Dom’s, and Jason Weatherbee seven in net for the Wolverines.Dirigo 1 – Wiscasset 0Wiscasset and Dirigo battled hard in Wiscasset on Saturday. Keeper Jason Weatherbee “came up big” when he stopped Hunter Ross on breakaway mid-way through the 1st half, coach Wayne Benn said. Ross breached the Wolverine net with 7:03 to play in the 1st half to score the game winner.

The game was a mid-field battle from the start with few scoring opportunities for either team. Weatherbee made four stops for Wiscasset and Caleb Turner three for Dirigo.
