Camden Hills came from behind to defeat Lincoln Academy 10-8 Tuesday in the two teams’ season opener. “It was one of the best games I have seen this team play,” coach Alan Davis said of his Eagles.
Lincoln jumped out to a 3-1 first quarter lead and led 6-4 at the half.
“Unfortunately we only scored two goals in the second half,” Davis said. Sophomore first-year lacrosse player Jacob Stevens had a “‘stellah’ performance” in net for the Eagles, rejecting 20 Camden shots in his first outside outing.
Scoring for LA were Ben Stone with four goals and one assists, Jake Millett 2 goals and 2 assists, John Riley 1 goal and 1 assist and Caleb Farrin one goal. Camden was led by Parker Lawson with 3 and Marshal Stear and Jack Orne 2 each.
Lincoln had just three defensive men in the game, including Asa Shadis, Luke Huntington and Robie Clark. “They played a great game,” Davis said.
