Winslow boys and girls ran to a double victory at Lincoln Academy’s Homecoming meet Sept. 24. Brittany Bowman won the girls’ race in 20:59, and Erskine’s Eben Hodgkins won the boys race in 17:32.
Gwen Moiles placed 6th in 21:42 and Megan Wyllie 7th in 22:08 to lead the Panthers to second place. Alyssa Griggs was 15th in 23:31, Heidi Harris 16th in 23:34, and Jocelyn Thames 24th in 24:20 to complete the Panthers scoring five. Also racing for Medomak were 27. Jordan Hopkins, 24:58; 31. Competing with a full girls’ team for the first time all season, Lincoln Academy placed fourth. Hannah Fake led the Eagles with a 13th place finish in 23:17, followed closely by teammate Tiega Martin in 14th in 23:26. Katrina Bell was 17th in 23:43; Phoebe Arnold was 48th in 28:20; and Elizabeth Simonds was 67th in 33:32.
Lincoln was led by Luca Keushguerian, who ran to a ninth place finish in 18:45. Shawn Grooms placed 14th in 19:17; Will Hadden 29th in 20:00; Nick Smelcer 31st in 20:04; and Alex Hadik 36th in 20:24 to complete the scoring five for the Eagles. Also running for Lincoln were 37. Alex Tomasello, 20:26; 45. Julian Frink, 21:08; 56. Josh Richards, 22:20; 64. Kevin Sandefur, 22:53; 67. Daniel Mayer, 23:12; 73. Sal Azzaretti, 25:41; and 75. Mat Poland, 25:56.
Nick Anderson raced to a sixth place finish in 18:34 to lead the Panthers. Brendon O’Donnell was 18th in 19:37, Joe Murphy 22nd in 19:44, Ivan Johnson 47th in 21:18 and Ian Rixon 49th in 21:22 to complete the scoring five. Also running for the Panthers were 53.
