Wiscasset JV handed the Eagles a 59-55 over-time loss in the nightcap of the Boothbay JV Classic Tuesday night. The loss was Lincoln Academy JV’s and coach Rand Maker’s first since the 2008-09 season and snapped a 20-plus game winning streak. The Eagles went 18-0 during the 2009-10 season.
The two teams battled every step of the way, with LA leading 13-10 at the quarter, trailing 24-23 at the half and leading 37-36 at the end of three. Caleb Farrin converted off the glass with three minutes to go in regulation to give the Eagles a five-point lead.
Casey Dalton pulled Wiscasset within three and James Andretta hit a three-pointer from the corner to tie the score with 1:53 to play. Wiscasset went up by two, before Bo McLain hit a shot to tie the game and force OT.
Seward Matel gave the Eagles the lead off McLain feed. Andretta tied the score off his own steal. Farrin scored on a pass from Tom Masters to once again put Lincoln ahead. Andretta hit a three and scored on a Ben Sutter steal and then netted a foul shot to give Wiscasset the lead for good.
Scoring for Wiscasset were Andretta 24, Austin Haskell 13, Dalton 8, Sutter 6, Eddie Stewart 6 and Zach Ellison 2. Scoring for Lincoln were Farrin 20, Matel 19, Luke Bibber 7, McLain 4, Israel Daiute 4 and Masters 1.
Scoring for the Eagles were AJ Oliver 12, Zach Rankin 9, McLain 6, Farrin 6, Masters 3, Matel 3, Bonney 2, Casey Poland 2 and Bibber 2. Scoring for Medomak were Ryan Ripley 10, Russell Wood 9, Brandon Soper 4, Robbie Griffin 4, TJ Harriman 3, Boone Olson 2, Kazu Tibbetts 2 and Mark Sweet 2.
