Wiscasset’s softball team notched their second win of the season on May 25 with a 12-9 victory over Boothbay. Megan Corson (9B,4K,0H) and Heidi Pinkham (10B,4K,3H) combined on the Redskins mound in the win. Allison Crocker (2B,7K,12H) took the loss for the Seahawks.
Boothbay scored two runs in the top of the 1st, padded by an RBI error from Meghan Smith. Wiscasset plated three in the bottom of the inning on a three run double to Mackenzie Chancellor. The Seahawks tied the score in the 2nd, and took a two run lead in the 4th on five walks and an error.
Wiscasset scored four runs in the 4th to take the lead for good, led by Carolyn Footer with a two run double.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Chancellor and Carolyn Footer with a double and single each, Paige Teel and Pinkham 2 singles each, and Corson, Abby Austin, Kristen Smith and Alicia Young a single each. Hitting for Boothbay were Sarah Caron with a triple and single and Smith a single.
Hitting for Hall-Dale were LaChance with three singles, Wolfington a triple and single, Allen and Longfellow two hits each and Houdlette, Barton, Breault, Wright and Brown one each.
Wiscasset wraps up the season with a 2-14 record.
