Lincoln Academy senior Heidi Zeigra medalled in two events at the state Class B swimming championships at Bowdoin College in Brunswick on Monday. Zeigra broke two school records in her swims. Zeigra placed fifth in the 200 IM in 2:23 and sixth in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.
The top eight places in each event received medallions at the state championships, and the top 16 places earned points for their team.
Zeigra owns seven individual LA swim records in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 200 IM, 100 butterfly, 100 back and 100 breaststroke, and has her name on the record books in all three relays.
The Lady Eagles 200 free relay placed 10th in 1:58 with Essie Martin, Zeigra, Elise Dumont and Rowan Carroll-Christopher swimming a leg. Lincoln’s 200 medley relay placed 13th in 2:16.08 with the same four swimmers.
Wiscasset swimmer Julia West placed 12th in the 50 free in 26.62 to earn five team points for the Wolverines.
Mt. Desert Island won the Class B championship with 329 points. Lincoln scored 49 points to place 12th, and Wiscasset 5 points to place 25th.
