The location of the public presentation on the proposed Newcastle Character Zoning Code scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 28 has been moved to the community room at the Newcastle fire station on River Road. The program will begin at 7 p.m., as previously announced. Anyone interested in hearing about the new code, which is based on the concepts in the comprehensive plan adopted in June, is invited to attend.

Bristol Masons Seek Donations for Yard Sale
The Bristol Masonic Lodge will hold a yard sale on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lodge is soliciting donations of saleable items in support of this efforts. All proceeds from the yard sale will be directed to the Masonic Scholarship Fund, the Masonic Charitable Fund, and community service as needs arise.
Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center Has Final Days for Season
The end of summer is near, but there will be one more beach exploration presented at the Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center at Pemaquid Beach Park called “Monarchs at the Beach.” The final day open at the nature center will be on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Monhegan Museum Celebrates 50 Years with Pictorial Postmark
The United States Postal Service in Monhegan, in conjunction with the Monhegan Museum, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the museum with a keepsake picture postmark – also known as a pictorial cancellation in collectors’ circles – to be offered at the Monhegan Museum, 1 Lighthouse Hill, Monhegan, on Friday, Aug. 17 from noon-2 p.m.
Open Community Meeting to Discuss Potential Recovery Collaborative
Two years ago, to address the ever-worsening drug addiction epidemic in Lincoln County, all Lincoln County law enforcement and corrections departments came together with addiction treatment providers, hospitals, the YMCA, and other community organizations. They formed the Lincoln County Recovery Collaborative to offer proactive outreach to people with drug addictions by law enforcement officers and other participants of the Lincoln County Recovery Collaborative network.
