Plein Air Painters at Maine Open Lighthouse Day
The Pemaquid Group of Artists will be an active participant at the Maine Open Lighthouse Day event on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Lighthouse Park. The celebration of the Pemaquid Lighthouse and its historical significance will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission to the park during these hours will be free to the general public.

Major films, independent films, documentaries, and special events will start Saturday, Sept. 1 and continue through the fall and winter. The theater will be open seven days a week until late September.
Artful Color to Abound at Wiscasset Art Walk
Color, color everywhere – and all of it meant to be drunk deeply. Guest artists in pop-up galleries and sidewalk displays by local community groups will add even more variety to the village’s collection of galleries, antique venues, and shops. Last week, I wrote about the fabulous hour-long solo performance on Aug. 9 by world-class classical guitarist Jason Vieaux. This week, I will tell you about the equally top-notch – but style-wise wildly different – noontime concert of electric guitarist Steven Mackey.
Review: Abbey Ryan Still-Life Show at Gleason Stuns with Attention to Detail
The titles of the paintings in Abbey Ryan’s current exhibit at Gleason Fine Art in Boothbay Harbor, such as “Still Life with Pear and Bumble Bee,” “Bowl of Cherries,” and “Mango on a Wood Block,” are self-explanatory. “Still Life with Pear and Bumble Bee” features a pear and a bumble bee, “Bowl of Cherries” a bowl of cherries, and “Mango on a Wood Block” a mango perched atop a block of wood.
Maine Outdoor Film Festival in Edgecomb
