The number of power outages in Lincoln County is on the rise again as yet another winter storm is due to arrive on Sunday night, bringing an additional 6 to 10 inches of snowfall to the area. In an ominous note, some forecasters are calling for more freezing rain than snowfall, especially in Lincoln County coastal areas.
Accumulation Estimates Reduced; Warning Period Extended Into Monday for Ice Storm

A reduction in the estimates of ice accumulation is good news for Lincoln County residents as a winter storm visits the area, however the Ice Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service has been extended until noon on Monday.

The Newcastle Planning Board has unanimously approved Lincoln Academy’s application to build a dormitory and applied technology and engineering center.
MVHS Home Sports Events Canceled
Medomak Valley High School has canceled all home sports events on the schedule for Sat., Dec. 14 as a result of a broken water pipe at the school. On Dec. 4, Deputy Matthew Day took a report of a theft/burglary to a wood splitter (approximate value: $750) from a residence in the Bristol area. The complainant stated that sometime in the past few weeks, someone(s) stole his 6-hp wood splitter from a barn on his property.
