The Lincoln County Animal Shelter has alerted police about a case of animal cruelty involving a dog brought to the shelter 10 days ago.

The town of Damariscotta will continue the search for its next police chief after a breakdown in negotiations with the top candidate for the position.

Several Chapman Street residents hope to convince the town of Damariscotta to scuttle a plan to build a sidewalk along the road with federal money. An advisory committee will meet at the Damariscotta town office Tuesday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Damariscotta/NewcastleThe Twin Villages Annual Memorial Day parade will step off from Lincoln County Publishing Co. building on Mills Road in Newcastle at 11 a.m., Mon., May 27.
