Damariscotta Selectmen, Planning Board to Discuss Piper Village Jan. 9
The Damariscotta Board of Selectmen will meet in joint session with the Damariscotta Planning Board Mon., Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Damariscotta Municipal Building on School Street in Damariscotta, to discuss a request from Piper Village Development to rezone several properties in the rural zone east of Bus. Bigelow Laboratory Awarded More Than $600,000 In Grants
U.S. Senators Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins announce that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in West Boothbay Harbor a $603,631 grant to conduct biological oceanography research, specifically in the area of iron oxidizing bacteria.
Topsham Woman Accused of Stealing Veteran’s Benefits
A Topsham woman appeared in court in Portland on Dec. 20 on charges that she stole tens of thousands of dollars in veteran’s benefits from her brother-in-law’s account.

LCSO Assists MDEA With Bath Salts Investigation
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies recently assisted Maine Drug Enforcement Agents in an investigation that resulted in the seizure of 2.5 pounds of bath salts in the past week from Waterville and Thomaston.

Three Injured In Edgecomb Crash
Three men were injured during a head-on collision on Rt. 1 in Edgecomb, Dec. 9. The accident occurred about a quarter mile south of the intersection of Routes 1 and 27.
