The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Wiscasset and Boothbay areas. The Watch is in regard to a thunderstorm rapidly approaching the area that has a history of dumping quarter size hail and bringing winds in excess of 60 mph, as well as heavy rainfall. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning means that the weather is either occurring now or imminent. The Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 1:15 p.m.
