Edgecomb residents decided to nix plans to purchase 22-acres of land on Davis Island from the Bank of Maine during an April 4 meeting at the town hall with the Edgecomb Board of Selectmen.

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On March 30, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of burglary in the Bristol area. The complainant stated that sometime between March 12 and March 29, someone(s) entered his residence and stole numerous items. There are no suspects at this time and further investigation will follow if leads develop.
Work Begins On Contentious Intersection Project
On Rt. 1 in front of the town office in Waldoboro, construction work has begun on a Maine Dept. of Transportation intersection improvement project that raised concerns with several residents during public hearings on the project over the last year.

After several years of struggle, the Maine legislature appears to be poised to enact a free saltwater fishing registry, said Sen. David Trahan, whose bill to create the registry will go before a joint committee on April 7.
