Trees downed by Tropical Storm Irene have made four roadways in Lincoln County impassable until further notice, according to Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency (LCEMA) Director Tim Pellerin.

A structure fire at 196 Indian Road in Wiscasset, near the Dresden-Wiscasset town line, caused heavy damage to a home late Monday afternoon.

The Wiscasset Emergency Management Agency (WEMA) has opened a shelter in the Wiscasset Community Center located on Rt. 27 in Wiscasset, according to WEMA Director Roland Abbott. The shelter is open to any resident in Lincoln County who may require shelter assistance and will remain open as long as it required, Abbott said.
