Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

On May 10, Deputy Matthew Day took a report of a theft in the Nobleboro area. The complainant stated that sometime since Oct. 2009, someone stole his 100 lb. Amerigas propane tank from the side of his cottage. The approximate replacement value is $350. At this time, there are no suspects.

In celebration of National Emergency Medical Services Week, the Jefferson Fire Department held an open house with activities and information about child safety on May 16 at the Jefferson Fire Station.

State Rep. Wendy Pieh (D-Bremen) announced earlier this year she will not seek reelection.

A trio of local residents appeared before the Great Salt Bay Sanitary District Board of Trustees May 12 to express concerns over the Sanitary District’s practice of adding fluoride to the public water system that serves 1650 customers in Newcastle, Damariscotta and Damariscotta Mills.

Edgecomb voters were a no-show at a public hearing on the formation of the Rocky Channels School System (RCSS) at the Edgecomb Eddy School May 11.

During their Tuesday morning meeting, Lincoln County Commissioners were pleased to announce the county’s EMA director, Tim Pellerin, is one of 121 instructors in the nation to achieve state recognition for his commitment to training others in the Incident Command System (ICS).
