Whitefield Board Hears Complaints
Complaints about property taxes and a sand contract landed on the Whitefield selectmen’s desk Monday.
Chairman Steve McCormick told Dennis Merrill his request for property tax abatement was one of 15 submitted since tax bills came out last November. Portions of five abatements have been granted so far, McCormick said.

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Feb. 25, Deputy Matthew Day responded to a report of a burglary in the Nobleboro area. The complainant stated that someone(s) broke into his residence and some collectable items and a five gallon bucket of change had been taken. No money value on the items taken was available. Further investigation to follow.
Town Won’t Walk Away On Road Repairs
According to the chairman of Damariscotta’s Board of Selectmen Richard McLean, “the town won’t walk away on Heater Rd.,” though no final plan of action was set out during the selectmen’s March 18 meeting. “We’ve got to put an end to this,” McLean said.
