Shirley M. (Weaver) Peaslee, 90, of Jefferson, passed away on Feb. 5 at her home, where she was surrounded by family. Shirley was born Dec. 19, 1927 in South Jefferson to Albert Weaver and Lydia (Sprague) Weaver.

Guilford (Leo) Hannon, 98, of Chamberlain, died Feb. 6 at the Marshwood Center in Lewiston. He was born in Augusta on Aug. 21, 1919, a son of Walter and Alice (Pottle) Hannon.

Richard Lindsay, 84, of Damariscotta, passed away peacefully on the morning of Feb. 3 at Riverside at Chase Point, with Janice, his wife of 49 years, by his side. His death ended his long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Margaret L. (Vinal) Grover, 62, of Freeport, passed away on Feb. 4 from cardiac arrest due to complications from liver disease.

Laurette Lochhead and her identical twin sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Gregory Chapman, were born March 14, 1921. They were from a New York family but their “Pa” was in San Francisco, California, for work so the twins were born out west. The family returned to New York and endured terrible poverty during the Great Depression.

Alice Ann Berry, 83, of Somerville, Mass., passed away recently at her residence at the Clarendon Hill Towers, in Somerville, Mass.

James Bradford Marden, 67, of Damariscotta, died peacefully at home on the evening of Feb. 3 after a courageous 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Robert E. Dufour, 77, of Bristol Mills, passed away on the morning of Jan. 29 at the LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta. Most recently, he had been living with his daughter in Damariscotta.

Alex Raymond Romero Jr., 64, of Bristol, passed peacefully and quietly in his sleep on Jan. 31 at Lincoln Health – Miles Campus in Damariscotta.

Jean Tyrrell Travers of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Waldoboro and Concord, Mass., passed away after a brief illness on Jan. 30.

Barbara P. Hodgkins, of Whitefield, went to be with her parents and brothers on Jan. 29.
