Elizabeth Pauline Whitman, 84, of Bryant Pond, died peacefully Jan. 9 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris with family and friends at her side.

Margaret S. Hodgdon, 89 of East Boothbay, passed away at St. Andrews Village, Gregory Wing on Jan. 1.

Mary Ann Peters, 78, of Edgecomb, died peacefully at her home on the morning of Jan. 11 surrounded by her loving family.

Quenten Lewis Smith, 78, of Cedar Hill, Tenn., died Dec. 31, 2011 at his home.

Dr. Francis Golffing, 101, of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully at Pen Bay Hospital on Jan. 9.

Leighton Russell Keirstead, 82, of Damariscotta, died Dec. 29, 2011 peacefully in the arms of his daughters while he was lovingly received by his bride of 55 years.

Alexander B. (Sandy) Brook died at his home in Newcastle, Maine on Monday, January 23 of a heart attack. He would have been 90 on June 20.

Phyllis K. Dow passed away Jan. 7 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. She was born Nov. 6, 1924 in South Bristol, the daughter of Albert Goudy Kelsey and Beatrice Fitch Kelsey.

Mrs. Elizabeth (Yates) Wood, 84, of Brooksby Village, Peabody, Mass., formerly of Topsfield, Mass., beloved wife of Robert Allen Wood, died unexpectedly on Dec. 28, 2011, surrounded by her family at Salem Hospital.

Robert G. Mortimer, 72, of Bremen, passed away at Maine Medical Center on the morning of Jan. 26 with his family by his side.

Arlene W. Burns, 91, a longtime resident of Nobleboro, passed away on the evening of Jan. 9 in Augusta with her family by her side.
