I am the owner of the Mediterranean Kitchen downtown. I was not able to get to the meeting last week.
I have a front row seat everyday to the bus. I see no problem with the bus stopping where it does now. I do see a problem with the rest of the drivers.
If people were more courteous and patient, the flow of traffic would be smoother.
We Got What We Voted For
Not one of our representatives to the Congress read the alleged “stimulus” bill. Now we find out the AIG bonuses were included in it. The President said it was critical that it be passed immediately – or else. He is now “surprised” and “shocked” at the bonuses.

NO NEED TO PANIC
The water was likely still dripping through the ceiling at the Damariscotta Hannaford’s before rumors were flying around town.
Initial reports received here at The Lincoln County News office outlined a collapsed ceiling with people uninjured. The truth of the matter was far less dramatic. After workers discovered a problem, store officials determined there was a public safety issue and decided to close the store until the situation could be stabilized.
Hull Planning Board Proposal A Cockamamie Idea
Dear Newcastle citizens: the Newcastle Planning Board intends to present to the Selectmen a revision of our Zoning Ordinance for the Village District.
Presented under the banner of preventing sprawl and establishing a pedestrian based downtown, the proposal would radically alter Main St. (Bus. Rt. 1) in Newcastle.
Why Should We Allow A National Heath Care System?
In regard to the recent debate on whether or not we should adopt a National Health Care System, I would like to raise the following points:
First, is this system permitted under the Constitution of the United States? The preamble says, “We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
IT TAKES A REAL MAN TO WEAR A DRESS
Major Ken Mason looks every inch like the former Marine and career lawman that he is. Although his co-workers at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office can trade tales about Mason’s polished sense of humor, the Ken Mason the general public is more likely to see is the one with the practiced deadpan expression and the burn-a-hole-through-you glare that anyone who has been on the wrong end of a traffic ticket would recognize as an invitation to pipe down.

Dear Sir/Madam,
All four of you should be embarrassed that you voted for the pork-bloated joke masquerading as a “stimulus” bill. The Congressional Budget Office says that it will not do what Congress proclaims it will. The president changes his tune almost daily as to how many jobs it will create. It is a waste of taxpayers and borrowers money.
